Our leathers:

DW and Co uses only European leathers, primarily from Italy, that have been carefully crafted from genuine cowhide. The leathers are then colored with vegetable-based dyes and a variety of finishes, such as flat, metallic, or brushed, are applied. The selection of colors is amazing, ranging from gorgeous muted shades of purples and blues, to vibrant orange and yellow, and of course, the ever popular basic black that goes with everything! If you see a design you would like in a different color, please contact us with that request and we will do our best to find the perfect color for you. 

Leathers come in a varying shapes and widths as well. “Regaliz” leather is a solid, thicker leather that is shaped flat on the bottom with a rounded top. It’s name came from being similar in shape and diameter to a licorice stick – “regaliz” means licorice in Spanish! Our “flat leathers” are leather strips in widths ranging from 3mm for delicate designs to 30 and 40 mm for a bold cuff style bracelet. Flat leathers come in so many different colors and finishes – plain, stitched, braided, metallic – it’s hard to choose sometimes!

Our accent slides and spacers:

Almost all of our sliders and spacers are made from zinc which has been mined in Germany or Belgium. Each piece is then electroplated in silver, brass, copper or gold. The shiny silver findings are 99.9% sterling silver finish. These slides and spacers are free of lead, nickel, cadmium and are considered hypoallergenic. 

We do occasionally accent a design with a finding made of wood, ceramic beads, crystals and other interesting pieces we find in our travels. It’s a never-ending search for “just the right piece” that makes our bracelets so unique. Although we have a few popular designs we repeat, most of our bracelets are one-of-a kind combinations of colors and findings that make each one special.

Our magnetic clasps:

More than just a way to close the bracelet, our clasps are selected as part of the design itself. In fact, some of the clasps are the focal point of the bracelet. The magnetic clasps are much different than the simple  “stick together” kind you’ve seen before. Ours are heavier with stronger magnets on both sides of the clasp and feature small safety pins or bars that prevent the clasps from slipping apart. They are convenient and easy to close (by yourself!) and secure. No more struggling  to open or close a bracelet around your wrist, only to have it pull apart and slide away from you over and over. There are new designs in clasps that look like peacock feathers, ones that look like buckles,  some with hammered textures and like the findings, come in silver, brass, copper, gold and other specialty finishes.
